Two almost-twin dishwashers!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I believe Phil's new WU600 is probably a Series 2 machine, which had almost all of the bugs worked out from the earlier versions of this dishwasher.

I'll be very curious to hear what your thoughts are about the two!

I'll install the belt-drive Maytag tomorrow... Eager to see this nice machine work again :) Will be a perfect fit with the 1965 Talisman GE fridge and the 1974 Belanger "Ceravit" stove.

Thanks again Phil!

You're more than welcome Gilles!

I hope it will work fine and that you'll enjoy using/fixing these machines!

Welcome here!

Direct Drive Pump

Hi John,

I have only seen two of the direct drive early Maytag's DW's and on both I said how pitiful the connection was for the discharge hose!  It had no grooves and it was less than a quarter of an inch to connect the hose.  I never understood how could anyone design something so positive to fail.  Not to mention gallons of water flying all over a running enormous motor!

I have heard a few talking about the first run of these DD that had an issue with the wash arms syncing up and how it would cause an unbelievable racket.  Is this true?

Jon, I think this is really a tall tub model.  Could be the last of the real Maytags before the WP acquisition.  I've seen a manual for a JennAir Jetclean II that had a copyright of 2004 or 2005.

I don't think the moniker "JetClean II" came along until the redesigned dishwasher that put loading in the traditional arrangement rather than RR.

Kerrssslapppp ! By DIRECT DRIVE TO -- M.S. !!!!

I know its  a RR belt drive. I've seen its sister who was put into service, and I'm going to go back and get her too!

Just gotta cut the box today and get the model##.

Eddie one of them is headed to the Cape, I refuse to live with one dishwasher!!

Nothing like 2 dishwashers. I have the KDS 20 right now which is a built in. Then I use one of my portables as the Daily Driver.

I use the 20 for overflow on Prep Days, Baking or just plain old "Got a lot of stuff to wash".

Having a Galley Kitchen, I need the portables right from the get go for Counter Space. Speaking of portables, I need to swap out something today. The KenWhirl has been in service for a year now. Usually I swap out every month or so.
I like the Heated Dry of the KitchenAids for the Hydration bottles I take to the gym. I can wash them in the lower rack without worrying about damaging them with the heat element from the KenWhirl. However the placement in the Lower rack not near the element works fine too.

Ooops Hi Jacking... Sorry. I look forward to cooking at the Chatham house with the New RR machine. Will the KitchenAid stay ?

Still want to pick up the next RR that I find just to experience a RR. There is one in Southwest Florida I have my eye on. I may have to grab it if it's still around in November when I head down with my Dad's Car.

So... Where are the Pics of this New Find ? Do I have to drive up to the Rose to see him ??? Hmmm ??? I am off today ya know... LOL
