The vacuum cleaner history book I found quite intersting as well as the Waffle Iron History. They give a lot of info about when companies came about and closed.

Another good book on kitchen equipment-the "Cooks Catalog" this book was published many years ago-you can find them in used bookstores or online places.I have a few copies!

Love the waffle iron book. There is a picture on the cover of this book that shows that exact same waffle iron that I have in the kitchen. My grandmother bought it but I don't know when, maybe around 1934? It has 3 names in the brand. Landers etc. etc.? It works just fine and the original light bulb that signals when the waffles are done still works. I use Pam on it and there is no worry with sticking. Gary
Gary, your waffle iron would be a Landers, Frary & Clark; they were the manufacturer of the Universal brand of appliances.
HI Tom, thanks, that's right. It still looks good but the handles etc are starting to show their age but turning a brown color.
