In our Home Despot, all the specialists (appliance, kitchen design, carpet) have to wear white shirts. I always wear white cotton short-sleeved polos because I'm one of those who are always "hot", even in the winter. I'm forever getting stains of one kind or another on them, so I found the bleach pen does a great job at pre-treating so I don't have to soak all this stuff in OxyClean for hours.

The apartments where I live put in new Maytag commercial washers not long ago, larger capacity ones than what was there. Suddenly I noticed my stuff is coming out of them with holes! Big ones! After about the fourth occurrence I realized that only the items I had used the pen on have had this happen. Nothing else has been affected so far.

Stopped using the bleach pen and haven't had a problem since. Thought I'd post this in case anyone else uses this product frequently; it's apparently tougher on fibers than they lead you to believe.

Well for one chlorine bleach eats cotton fibers. I rarely if ever use chlorine bleach. I usually use oxygen bleach for everything. Like Vivid or Clorox 2. I have found that with the Shaws Homelife all fabric bleach is the same as Clorox 2. The Clorox 2 runs at 4.99 a box where as the Homelife stuff is $1.79...same thing different box.

Thanks PT,

We got a pen from my partner's mother last Christmas, and I have not used it..

I work at HD as well, it must be your store thing about the white shirts?

Yes, it is. Specialists only - everyone else can wear what they want. Of all colors they had to pick white. One trip to receiving for a carry-out microwave and I look like I was rolling on the floor back there.
