Oh my, its the elusive special edition Cornflower Blue, very rare, did a poppy and the orange models at same time!! Matched the Belling cookers of the time!!

Back into the swing

Been busy the last few weeks but time to get those vintage goodies back in sight.

Lets kick off with a Parkinson Cowan from mid 1970s. This was pretty much a BOL gas range, about 20 inches wide, my sister had one of these new after she was married in 1974 only hers had a black door.

Leisure Built In

I have posted these before, but I don't recall a wood grain one. The pictures show its origin, its a regular range that has had a chain saw taken to it. The cupboards were supplied along with range (I have seen them before) although I recall an article from Practical Householder in the early 1970s which showed how to make such a unit. Its not cheap ....

Topline was the name previously applied to the old Jackson models with eye level oven-ette. They revived the name for this late 1980s more conventional cooker, pitched as an alternative to the Belling Format

Moffat Fiesta 21

UK manufactured (the earlier Moffats were Canadian) and based on the Tricity 21" wide range of cookers - Tricity was within the same group - two ovens and two grills (broilers).

Moffat Fiesta 24

This is contemporary with the 21" version above, but in this case there was no Tricity equivalent and indeed this model would have been more TOL than the 21" My recollection is that, as well as being wider, its also rather deeper than the 21". Large main oven with oven-ette. I always like these, if it were not a bit far .....

I have been busy for the last couple of weeks, time to get posting some kitchens!

And definitely 1970s. That dishwasher placement is highly unusual but could well be original (dishwasher is not) as the cabinet is a bit large for a conventional oven and the opening looks too small for a Moffat Oven. I quite like the open shelves/dresser effect

At first glance this kitchen does not look all that much, obviously good in its day, now it bit sad. A closer look at the wall cupboards shows that it is a, seldom seen, Multyflex kitchen from the early 1970s. The handles on the base cabinets must have been replaced at some point. Where the fridge is would have been a built in model. One has to wonder about the oven, it looks good but that the control switch is all taped over indicates that there may be a problem somewhere. The ceramic cooktop is not original
