Help Support :

Forgot to mention the Free Item with it lol.

Morphy Richards Iron was inside the machine when we collected it and there was even a £1 coin and an old style 10p piece under the gyrator. Talk about a cash back promo lol.

Countess

Brilliant! absolutely Brilliant you two :-)........real washing, all you now need is a fag in your mouth, jimmy young on the radio and house full of screaming kids....and a dog barking..........arghh the joys of real washing... eh lads :-)

hahahaha

Paul has been on at me this afternoon about wearing a tabard and all that.

Now I would but only if im allowed at the QC sherry and 20 Mayfair Menthols....

Cant help but think of this video really

Anyone know what the cooker is at 1.04?

Looks to me like a Belling Compact with the controls in front of an eye level grill..

or is it Tricity?

Hi Rob and Paul,
congratulation! I too would love to have this machine. That must be a lot of fun. May I ask you a question? When this machines were popular after squeezing the laundy through the wringer it was possible to use the dryer or the laundry were still too wet. How much water does the wringer extracts?

Thanks, bye
Ingemar

Dryness

Well they are drier than wringing by hand but nowhere as near as what a Tumble Drier could be economicle in using.

If I had to put a spin speed value to the level of dryness they achieve then I would say around 400rpm give or take 100rpm.
Bearing in mind that we are spinning 5kg of cottons at 500 +/- 100rpm on a long spin.

The results are wetter but not much to what my mothers old Hoover Quattro would achieve at 600rpm on the cotton spin.

Rinsing

LOL Rob

I'd just knew once the washing was done it would get rinsed in the Automatic, what you need is a row of single tubs and spinarinses to carry out the subsequent rinsing. Don't be ashamed though, I know you have very high standards for washing/ rinsing performance, it's a great machine. From that internal shot, I now know what those odd pumps I've got belong to. Great job on the ecologic too, I've got a hoover badge for it somewhere. mathew

Tomorow I will do another wash and weigh the dry laundry before it goes in.

Will wring it and weigh it.

Then will pop it into the Automatic and give it a normal spin at 1000rpm then re weigh it and see just what does come out.

I think thats a fairer test with the equipment I have to hand at the minute.

Should be able to work out a residual water remaining percentage too.

Creda,

Thanks Alisdair, never dawned on me it may be a Creda, never seen that model before with the dials there, cant have been popular here then lol.

Talking of Creda I may just make another thread later with some pictures I took when we popped into Blythe Bridge last weekend.

Wonderful place with a nice charm to it, could happily live there.

Mathew,

Good bit of fun aint it. Now if only I had your Rolls to get the rinsing done, lol,

Roll on summertime when I dont have to worry about how long everything will dry and I will do a weeks wash with it from start to finish no cheating the way it was meant to be.

Stock up on that High Sudz Persil!

Hotpoint Countess... Hotpoint Washes Cleanest Because it Can

Nice one boys, these are great workhorses, made in the 50`s & 60`s, where to be seen in many a house across the land, very quiet in operation...!!!The moisture level after wringing is equivalent to an 600 / 800 spin machine, you cant wring any more water by hand, and a few passes extacts more water especially when folded up again!!!

The white & blue trim is a later 60`s model, I have the cream / red trim, the pump and motor is the same as the first Hotpoint 1400 twinny, ( and yes Mathew,I need a pump if you can!!!) Heres the "Official Look" when using one of these Rob, and get those tongs!!! you fingers where far to near those rollers for comfort...

p.s. the cooker is a Jackson Trimline me thinks, must find the brochure.

Believe me Mike when i say that seeing his fingers rather close to the mangle rollers makes me shudder.

Will have to invest in a pair of washing tongues for safety's sake.

Paul

Tongs indeed BUT not really for protecting my fingers from the rollers but more so I am able to dip into the boiling water tommorrow when I wash the whites LOL.

Just measured how many loads of white cottons I have and its 3 loads in the Automatic.

Why wait 7 hours to do 3 x 95*c washes tommorrow when I can get it done in 2........

Thank god the local "mom and pop" hardware store still has plenty of tongs in stock for the twin tub crowd.

Thank god I stocked up too....

what this rolls Rob

Yes I hope you enjoyed boiling up the whites, hope you had a good drying day. this was taken at Johns house a few weeks ago. Couldn't resist slipping it in being as you'd mentioned it lol. But with all that high suds persil you wouldn't be able to find the rolls after a 4 min wash lol. Though jokeing aside it would be good to do a tangleing comparison load for load. Enjoy your few days off

Mathew

lol

you mean to say you lugged the Rolls to Johns and still the Bosch was on?

I spy the dial turned to a wash cycle.

The shame!

Seeing the Rolls only makes me so desperate to use it now, Roll on (excuse the pun)rhe next holiday, I ought to save up loads of washing and bring it with me.

Truth is though we both know that aint going to happen with all the new additions lol,

Half of the whites and bedding wash out on the line in 1 hour!

Cheated again using rinses in the Auto but its the quickness of the wash at high temp that wins the game.

Washday blues

Well Rob I am thoroughly impressed with your wash results.............I did a wash in the boring Bosch today, it took 1 3/4 hours and it was so uninteresting i went and did something else, the reason being I do not have the time to go to the garage and play with my lovely machines, though i might get a white wash in on Friday as I might have a visitor......;-)

It is also nice to see you are enjoying good weather tup north, like we arrre down erre with the cows
