a young child can also be rough on a vacuum, they like to play with things. the dyson is NOT durable. and about the dirt being fluffed, the small fibers in the collected soil HOLD volume. even after it stops swirling. much like a fluffed feather pillow. an average upright vacuum cleaners bag can prolly hold at least four or five times the amount the Dyson canister holds. also, dyson uses low quality motors. for the retail price of a dyson, i expect a heavy duty motor. like pete said, with the dyson you are paying for flash and advertising. much like the oreck cleaners. i DO like the dysons convertible feature. and you CANT argue with price Nick paid, after discounts/coupons.
