Hey guys,
Yep another one to the collection! I got myself a 1996 Hotpoint Ultima WM43! 1400rpm 5.5kg!
Its still in my car until the strength arrives in the form of lavamat jon lol. Whom helped me pick it up...I will tell you the story of how and where we got it.
I got it for £13! Yes £13! off ebay! Strange considering i paid £41 for a zip up top on ebay this week aswell & i end up paying £13 for a machine that retailed around £500!
Well it was only half hour away in Scunthorpe. This guy lived in a creepy part of the woods..his house was dark and old. I knocked on his front door twice. Then this voice came from the side "can i help ya?" "oh. i'm here to collect the washing machine" i said. "Come on then" He was ya typical blokey bloke. "Give us a hand then" he demanded. Not wanting to be cut up with an axe we were quick up the 5 concret steps up into his house. Jon had to help him carry it down the steps. I wasnt strong enough lol. didnt wanna drop it...lol
So that was the tale of how i aqquired it. Now let me tell you about it!
Its really clean! Cept for a few marks that will wipe off. It is still Polar white not yellow.
Interestingly it has a flat glass like early hotpoints as opposed to the curvy style one they had for all the WM's. I've taken a pic of this so you get what i mean.
He plugged it in so i could see the display work.
Its 1400rpm. I've never seen a real hotpoint do 1400rpm. The fastest i saw was an almond 9524 with a spin slider that did 1200. That was real fun!
It came with an instruction book.
Strange thing is the back panel is like the hotpoint washer/dryers with the pipes on the botton right hand corner. Does anyone know why this is?
I will update as the day continues with pics and vids!
