Well my quest for Jenn Air bronze didn't pan out. I managed to find a showroom sample of the cooktop and dishwasher - beautiful color, but sadly no longer available. We placed the order today for the cabinets - Decora brand. The uppers are a pale creme "Chantilli" and the lowers are a grey green called "Sweet Pea" - all painted maple in a shaker design. We're going with quartz counters. I've got all Bosch 800 series appliances on the way too! Very excited to get rid of the 1980's builder's special cabinets and update the space.

Here's the main window wall:

And the view from the Dining Room...

We are going to adjust this wall to move the door opening to make room for the ovens on the other side - the old opening between the rooms will be made much larger to allow more light into the kitchen.

Very nice John! I like the idea of having the two different complimentary colors for the upper and lower cabinets. Looking forward to seeing more as the work progresses.

Best of luck on your project.

Are the shelves in the fridge full or half width? With the fridge being next to the wall and thus not being able to open the door more than 90 degress, will you be able to slide the shelves, crispers out of the fridge for cleaning? Just my own person preference but I think I would have reversed the fridge and stove locations. Otherwise, I think the kitchen will look great.

just my two cents....

I love, love, love the the current style of light colored uppers and dark lowers. It makes the room feel larger, yet grounded at the same time. Having remodeled a kitchen in my last home and just helped my sister in law design hers, you might want to re-think the fridge cabinet a little. The doors won't open all the way like Gary mentioned and is there a counter top nearby? Nothing worse than pulling things out of the fridge and no place to set them down.

Very nice plan but like countryguy/Gary look at maybe changing places with the MW Nand oven with the Fridge.  Or even have a 10 to 12 inch cabinet added to the right of the fridge to hold canned goods on roll out or to hold baking sheets and cake pans.

Thanks for the thoughts!

We played with the fridge placement - after many versions this seemed like the best place for it to land. It's currently to the right of the dishwasher at the end of the counter. I thought about not having a landing dock for food - but it's a small space - two steps left and I'm good. I will have to roll out for deep cleaning - but I have to do that now with the placement of the fridge in its current home. The shelves are all split anyway - shouldn't be too big of a deal.

I'm excited about the two colors! We're looking at a great pale grey/green for the walls and glass subway tile for the backsplash.

The kitchen designer did the CAD drawings - I'm not sure what program she used. Was great to see the space come together in 3D. The software shows light and shadows too.

My other half is a great amateur photographer - we're going to have one of his botanical photos made into a wallpaper mural for the wall at the end of our front hall leading to the kitchen. I'm really looking forward to seeing how that turns out too!

Before / After.

Might I request some shots of the existing kitchen?
I love this kind of stuff. Right now I'm designing a nice kitchen for one of the apartments I rent. I'm also designing a small, but VERY nice, kitchen for my own apartment. I prefer to work in a small, but well designed, kitchen ratehr than a large poorly designed one.

Congratulations! Your kitchen looks like it will be a real pleasure to use,
Dave

Looking into the kitchen - toward the dining room

The gate is there to keep the puppy out! This door opening will be resized on the right by about a foot for the fridge and wall oven. The remainder of the opening to the back wall will be removed. (To the ceiling - including the soffit in the kitchen.)
