Hitachi?

Probably Hitachi or another washer of the sort from Japan. It is not the old Hitachi twinnie I am looking for, though. The one model pictured here is not familiar to me, but it is an interesting find. I wish you can find someone who can provide with the requested infos about this machine.

parts

Too bad, buzywoman!

Hope you be able to fix everything

There are a few resellers of old, discontinued washer stuff on eBay, only a few. You might want to check out eventually for hard to find parts and names such as allfixelectrical or fasttrackspares (Australia, they ship worldwide) could be a source. There's a good part of DIY as well. For example, I had to repair a broken rubber seal under the spinner tub of my old Hoover twin tub: No replacement piece is available! However, some more knowledgeable people than I suggested the use of silicon rubber to fix that. And it worked! I applied ''patches'' of small rubber gasket pieces cut to desired size and placed where needed, then a good amount of silicon (transparent cream) should do the job. For washers or dishwashers you'll have to use the waterproof version of the silicon product. In mine's case it just filled the gap completely. By the way, some pumps (old or new) are still available through eBay (and, once in a while, somebody could sell things of the sort on Les Pac or Kijiji). You'd have to check out for that if you're interested.

Rarer than I thought

That machine is a Canadian/American model GE.
Very strong and powerful washing action in that washer.
Well designed with the pulsator on an angle to create a "Tornado" effect rather than just spin them round and round as in a flat-bottomed impeller machine.

pump

that pump looks a lot like the one in the hitachi built GE top load impeller washers-this twinnie probably hitachi too. What is wrong with the original pump?-if it's just gummed up and stiff,a good cleanup and reoil might get it going again.

tank-you : Twin Tubber and cfz2882

the motor of pump is tired, not turn and burn odor the engine is too used have weld spot on the motor.

y have cleaned and cleaned and bad.

if find a new motor with 3 bolt hole 55mm center of hole , good idea for reinstall hose case on new motor.

Missing back panel

Hey buzywoman,

just a few words, concerning the back panel, if you're living in -- or nearby -- the region of Qc city you could try having a new panel ''fabricated'' for your washer. I've contacted a place where, actually, they can create a new cover at your specifications. In my case it was easier perhaps because I had another cover of exactly the same size and design to leave there as a model for exact replica. They offer a choice of either metal or aluminium foil as basic materiau. I chose the thin aluminium because it comes in white color on one side and it is a bit less expensive. Of course, you do not seem to have another panel at hand so the very exact numbers would be needed on paper (precise measures and exact location of screw holes, for example)

Meanwhile, quick calls to a few other companies confirmed that some may charge way more for the manufacturing-processing of a cover (up to hundreds of dollars!).

Mine's manufactured cover costs total $75. I am anxiously waiting to see the end result! It should be ready by the next week -- somewhere around November 15. So, if you're living in the vincinity and think the investment is worthwhile you could try contacting them, they are expert in the field of metalwork production. Even without a model, they probably could pull something interesting off their hat as a replacement for your washer. Why not just ask them what they think about it?

(...please note thas I wasn't paid to advertise this company in any manner...)

Anyway, here's the link to their website:
