Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Oh sure now that I *have* a wringer washer this pops up!

*LOL*

Cannot tell from the picture if it is a Viking or maybe something brought over from Europe.

I'd email seller and ask for make/model information. You will need those basics at least to find out what sort of replacement parts (belt in particular) the machine requires.

Unknown machine

Its a Servis machine from the 1950s - it may not be branded as Servis, for example in Australia they are branded Wilkins Servis. Or it may be branded entirely differently - to give you an example the Sears Simpsons catalogue from the late 1940s features several British made vacuum cleaners (both Hoover which was branded as such and Siroma which were not) and several "President" branded cleaners were made in Britain in spite of being based an Apex design. Its always interesting to see how far these machines have travel - the access door also provided storage for the wringer.

ChesterMike's video below shows the machine in action

Its a Servis ......

As Al confirmed its a Servis Model M from 1951 made by Servis Domestic Appliances UK, owned by Wilkins Servis also famous for their power presses..this looks to be the unheated model as it doesnt have the heater switch and indicator light in the door.

The original 210d sweeping arc, 60 opm and power wringer !! door swings open to store the wringer and tongs etc..

Oh dear... It is an unusual one for sure.  Ironically, a Bélanger (which I mistook this Servis for) just showed up on the Québec Kijiji ads in the Rimouski area (and I know people around there who owe me... LOL)

But this one is definitely possible - it's between Gatineau and Montebello.  I am long overdue to visit friends in Ottawa and up in the Lachute area too, sooooo....

Hubby never said I couldn't get any more wringer machines either!

This is going to be eating at me now for sure...

Well unlike my Maytag

This Servis looks small enough it won't take up much space. Since the wringer is meant to come off and be stored you can always throw a cloth over the thing and put a lamp on top! *LOL*

If things come to the worse you probably would have no trouble selling the thing on to a member "down south", of course you'd have to get it down here for a start! *LOL*

Wilkins Service in Australia

Ask for more pictures. If you watch the youtube video of machine in operation you will see the wringer and the apron that makes it operational. This machine is missing the wringer apron which enables the clothes to be put through the wringer. There should also be on on the other side.

Servis

After I posted yesterday I was reading through a Servis history brochure and it says that this model "was developed for a dollar market" - whether they meant this as Canada only or also USA it does not say.

Paul, Chris could hardly object to a rare machine from dear old blighty now, could he? Although I must say $150 seems a lot to me for a machine which will not have spare parts readily available.

Its a Servis ......

Interesting model, ours never had a metal agi (which looks very Speed Queen ish) but a bakelite style. Does the seller have the chrome plated wringer feeder trays ?

Question for our Aussie friends, Did any of your models have metal agitators`s by any chance ? Shown below is the UK agi and the chrome wringer feeder trays.

"how would this refer to a Canadian market"

Am guessing because of the Canadian dollar being that country's currency. This as opposed to the British Pound which is the currency for the UK.

Could also be referring to the Australian "dollar" market as well since that country also uses said domination.
