Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Yup

Those look just like the ones we have at the apartment complex laundry rooms, just minus the timer knob. So yeah I'd say they're a year old or so.

Odd.

They are definitely odd in appearance. Probably have that enormaous winged agitator, too.

Odd Indeed

Have you ever seen a Whirlpool with the timer on the left side of the console? Or, how about the dryer with the timer in the center; kinda reminds me of the old BD Kenmores (or maybe the new Maytags).

Malcolm ......

As lovely as they would be with that agitator, these actually are direct drives, so they either have the Dual Action, or just a straight vane.

All that washer need is a coin slot. They are strait vane, and the water only comes to the 3rd or 4th row of holes(from the top). The hot wash was hardly warm.

Thanks Joe, I went to one of the local Laundromats before a bought my new washer. The sign on the wall stated hottest water in town 140F. It took a long time to fill and washer 4 minutes. It shredded my clothes and after I got my clothes out, noticed that all the washer had gray sludge in the baskets. I fixed my washer that day, and never went back.(I had an appointment for the next week) Those new TL that meet 2007 energy star don't get the clothes clean. I fixed my washer so it could last till the Black Friday sales.

The first three models it seems, since I didn't see or read a difference between any of them, are what we have here at the apartment. They work good, but even without the automatic tempurature control the machines have, the hot water in the laundry room was never hot enough, even with the Speed Queens we used to have, and the hot water pressure SUCKS! The hot comes out warm, and a warm wash is like almost cold. So that's why I sometimes venture out to a laundromat, for an actual hot wash and so I don't take up all the machines at once like many people do here. I am surprized to see that Whirlpool finally decided to rev up the spin RPM to appx. 640 rpm.
