Todays review will focus on Persil Non Bio Tabs purchased with Mike in Chester Eng.

Overall everyone knows I favor Persil but I have not tested UK Persil before. And today's lab test includes a direct comparison between a 1977 Frigidaire 1-18 and a 1956 Bendix.

Nothing sudses higher than a jetcone washer so we can do a direct hard test in both kinds of machines for absolute sudsing.

And in the Gyromatic also

there was clean rinse water.

Both methods of washing produced minimal suds and clear rinse water before any additives which today was New Downy Tropical Rain a very light scent thank you.

Overall I give Persil Tabs OH DARN what did I give Wisk last week? The thread is gone already! DANG! Oh well I give P TABS a many agitators rating.
Lo Sudsing Lo Scent, nothing needed rewashing in either machine! And everything was crunchy when it came out of the final spin.

Great! I love when people do home testing on products. I use Persil Powder, but it's the German version. I may splurge this summer and get a box of Unilever Persil, just to compare. Do the tablets have the fresh rosemary scent the German powder does?

One more question, Jon Charles: Do you have softened water? Both Gansky and I have mechanically softened water and we've found that detergents will be low-sudsing in the wash, but then hang on tenaciously through the rinses.

Hi Eugene

We are fortunate here in eastern Ma we have soft water naturally so we get good suds response and do not have to use much detergent. However the only detergent I have used that fowls up the rinse has been any Tide product. Most detergents are rinsed out quickly in our water.

The tablets do not have the rosemary scent, its a very light scent I can't really put my finger on. When I do I'll post here for everyone.

Oh yes,

The tip off would be "Non-Bio", which is not a version of Persil carried by Henkel, Germany. Indeed non-bio laundry detergents are rare outside of the UK,and HM's lands, territories, and dominons beyond the seas. Not to repeat an old story, Lever Bros tried to stop production once, and the housewives/mothers of the UK rose up in such protest one would have thought it was Herrod coming to slay their children. Lever Bros backed off and ever since "non-bio" detergents have been sacroscant.

Tis strange how much of the rest of the world manages to get on without, but don't think Lever Bros has the moxie to try phasing out non-bio Persil anytime soon.

i also got some Persil Non Bio tablets from Aquarius1984 (rob) in the UK. I was very happy with the results, smelt awesome and yes, very low sudsing.
For some reason, someone has also bought some british fabric softner as well, not good stuff tho, Tesco and Morrisons home brand easy iron, not very good and it doesn't smell very nice.
Heres a pic of the current collection.
Biozet, Tesco Easy Iron, Dynamo liquid, Drive liquid, Cuddly 'Field of Roses' scent. You can also see Sard Wonder soaker agent and the bottle of Morrisons Easy Iron.
Have fun guys
Matt
