US Marine needs help sourcing

This is my first post here. I am a USMC Vet from DShield/Storm. I discovered this site searching for water valve solenoids on the internet for nearly an hour.

Horton Valve company has been my go-to parts source for building OEM ReadyTemp ATC3000 for hot water circulation and to prevent home pipes from freezing. The typical life for the ATC3000 is 12 yrs, the record is 19 years. Horton valves were bought out by Supco, so I contacted them and got the following response.

"We have zero stock of any of these parts.

Even if we had these parts on an assembly line or BOM they are not SKU’s so the system will not allow a sale.

If I could help in any way I would – turning down business is not something I am accustomed to doing!

The reason Horton could sell these items is they made items they used for manufacturing, or repair available for sale.

This allowed small OEM’s making many different products from Ice Machines, coffee makers, car wash pumps, etc. to use their brackets, coils, seals, springs, etc. for manufacturing.

I know of no water valve manufacturers making valves in USA. Even Horton during their last several years began to outsource overseas.

I have attached a company called USEONG which is the only water valve company I am aware of. I have tried to contact to source some Horton valves until I could get the manufacturing up and running, but they really have no desire to talk.

After examining the tooling and molds from Horton it is apparent they will not be used for any manufacturing, and we really don’t know what our future plans are at this point. If we move forward with manufacturing ourselves it will take years.

Horton valve...

I'd think this type of installation would be relatively common in cold climate areas, particularly in seasonal situations where things would tend to be left unattended for extended periods of time. It'd seem that there would be alternatives to this specific vendor, so it may be worth investigation in Northern states if you know of anyone in, say, Minnesota, Michigan, or Vermont, who may be able to make some inquiries with commercial plumbers in those areas... good luck!

I as well don't know of any source, but I am very upset about the ground glass or metal fibers in the National guard troops guarding the capitol's food.
It's all way beyond politics now, and not a bit funny.
I respect all of our troops, but I don't understand the few former Marines, etc. in my locale still flying a ceratin flag or a sign for 2020. There are two with those and the red Marine flags. I guess they can do what they want, but the fake Antifa jerk

Hi Richard,

Which part are you finding a high failure rate with? The diaphragm, the coil, etc?

If it's mostly with the diaphragm or the diaphragm leaking, there are some generic valve rebuilding kits out there, but sadly they are just are starting to get tougher to find.

The old Watts/Invenses kit PN was RK1000, I've also found some of the Dexter kits to work as well, W7438K2.
