Haven't seen this posted here, but thought I'd just stick it here anyway even though it isn't particulary new.
V-Zug brought us (or at least me) a little bit closer to THE APPLIANCE.
I call it that because it packs almost everything that I'd ever need in a kitchen into one oven.
It's an oven.
It's a microwave.
It's a steamer.
All of that in one appliance, with everything combinable to your desire. Either manual or fully automated (meat probe and climate sensor).
Given the recent advances, in a few years, this might advance to the point where it has everything I could wish for.
Until then, they'd have to add self-cleaning (which is a huge challange for something as densly packed like this), raise the max temp to 300C (570F), add pull-out shelves and make a version that directly connects to you water supply and drain.
2 of these, a built-in coffee maker and a vacuum drawer for sous-vide, and my at-home pro kitchen would be complete (at least oven wise).
