to the new site. None of the listed "cautions" apply. I have emailed the webmasters (Fred Nelson and Robert Seger) but have rec'd no reply. Maybe they're in bed already...... <br

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Well, I still can't log on to the vac site. I just got up (3 a.m.) to 'pee' and stopped by to see if the site was up, and for some reason I still cannot access it. I tried it on both computers (a PC and a Mac) and on three different web browsers (Firefox, Netscape, IExplorer) --- get error messages on all of 'em. If I was a tiny bit more paranoid I might think I had been blocked from the site for some reason <br
Good job I'm -not- that paranoid....... <br

I was going to say it looks like a DNS problem. But on investigating a little, it appears more likely to be caused by trouble with host header resolution. Looks like the hosting server is set up by "host header" instead of IP. Multiple domains on it are hosted under a single IP, and the server resolves them by the host name, or header, the browser sends. vacuumland.org traces to IP 200.209.229.227, but opening that in a browser brings up an ad page for Lunarpages Hosting service.

A very large thank you to Gaget Garey!! I was able to access the sight once I clicked on to the one you gave me and get the sight set up in my files. thanks again. Hay is Bristol CT any where near Litchfield CT? sued to live their from 1968 to 1973? Mom used to have the 1963 Frigidaire washer and dryer until 1984 and the washer just kept blowing fuses and the timer in the dryer went bad. grew up with them great machines.
unfotrunately got WCI Westinghouse garbage that lasted only 4 years. thanks again.
