Moved house again, (novelty is wearing off I hasten to admit) and finally got somewhere where there is enough plumbing to go fully automatic with all washing and drying.

Paul bought this last year and its sat patiently waiting to be used til now so heres a few pics for those interested.

Control panel

Which isnt actually electronic as you would think. One press of a button has the machine clicking away Logic/Keymatic style selecting its programme.

Nice machine.

You might be able to buy a new "pattern spare" cutlery basket.

Failing that, one of the manufacturer's own versions might fit. I was thinking of my previous Hoover D820 dishwasher cutlery basket. The two halves can separate.

The photo shows the modern version with separator grid. Mine only had swivel-able teaspoon flaps, which I found to be rather handy: I could flip the flap to either of the inner two compartments, in each half of the basket.

I still don't like Bosch's Logixx "all or nothing" separator grid. My cutlery was always too big to fit in properly through the holes, but I needed teaspoons to not nest together. It annoyed me so much, that I took a pair of wire-cutters and snipped out the larger grid holes, leaving only the teaspoon holes - Hoover style.

One instinctively knows when something is right.

This is the basket that the Bosch has. I snipped out the larger square holes from the top grid. The cutlery has bulbous handles, and I needed to put other utensils into the basket too.

The inner-most compartments are a bit on the shallow side too, quite a rubbishy design.

Rob, congratulations on plumbing the dishwasher in! No more dishpan hands for you anymore I daresay?

As you know this was the machine we had while I was growing up... nice dishwasher, coped with going on once or twice a day over 11-12 years.  Used to love the Keymatic-style timer advancing as you started the cycle.

What cycle do you use the most? Ours always went on either Normal or Pots & Pans - none of the other cycles bar the pre-wash cycle were ever used!

Congratulations,

Jon

Nice machine.

A family friend had a Hoover dishwasher, from around this period but was dark grey with a mechanical timer?

Does anyone have a picture or information?

Thanks

Jacob

Interesting looking at the top rack wash arm that it gets its water from above. Never seen that before. Most if not all US made dishwashers get the water for the top rack from the bottom or the back of the machine.
