Its the first "Vision" washer, quite innovative styling and a re-introduced sloping front & tilted drum....as the first Hoover Automatic Washing machine was the sloping front Keymatic....so if you are thinking this is strange then what do you think of the first one....Lol

saw a few of these when the were launched. Claimed 8KG capacity, though used the same drum as my grandmas old 5KG Hoover performer (which I must add was much better than those used today). They also had super silent motor.
I think they did spin rinse, like those new candy mix powers!

This is the first range of visions, they only claimed 5kg capacity as far as I remember. The second range of visions such as the VHD812,VHD814,VHD816 and VHD816i also had the powerjet and did the ditribution washing/rinsing.
I remember I was intrigued by these when they were launched

Thats correct Rob They are around 10 or 11 years old. I remember seeing it in Currys when we got our Hoover Vortex

I agree, 11 years old at least. I seem to remember they only used 35 litres or so for a cotton wash. Nice looking machines but were on the expensive side.

OMG... that was love at 1st site!
That brings back memories! I was invited to a wedding in Italy back in 2002 I think and the 'bride to be' used to work in an appliance store, so, some days before the wedding, some friends and I went to see her at work to say 'hi', having not seen her for quite some years... but when I got there, I saw one of these head turners and I was totally captivated by it! I don't think the bride to be got enough attention from me that day... and that perhaps explains the reason why I got the short end of the... wedding cake LOL
As some1 suggested, these machines had a capacity of only 5kg and they were meant to revive the sloping front design of the original Hoover Keymatic. The ones I saw that time were actually called Zerowatt-Hoover Vision, as Candy was trying to popularise the brand Hoover in Italy by associating it with a well known local brand... I think the whole thing took place around 2000 but it never took off properly... they were far too expensive for what they were offering... more of a display thing really! In fact they were being used in the Italian big brother whereas we had the Dyson dual drum in the British one.
Too bad the one on the eBay link is in Wales... otherwise I'd bid on it... it still turns my head ;-)

Anyway, what happened to this model and have later models reduced water use even further?

I just love normal design
To be honest I don't like the design of this machine. I know it was inspired by Hoover Keymatic etc, but my personal taste sticks to "normal" design of washers. So much that I didn't give one single good comment about design of GrandO/VisionHD's, because of curved up shape they have for months

That was indeed one of the features advertised! Talk about stingy. 35 litres would be for a wash and 2-3 rinses, no prewash. I'm pretty certain that's as low as they went - perhaps it was solely by virtue of the tilted drum. The current Hoover range is proportionally similar in usage: 45l for 6kg machine which is 7.5l per kg (35l / 5kg = 7l per kg). It'll either be a wash and 3 rinses all at the lowest level (which I think is 6l in my mother's 6kg Hoover) or the wash + 2 higher level rinses.
I have the brochure for that first Hoover vision. There's no denying its striking looks; my favourite part has to be the dial. Not a fan of the double glazed door though.

It was an excellent machine built in the Zerowatt factory in Italy, really solid build quality, heaps of sound insulation on the inside panels and the spray rinse of course which was gr8 fun. Very low water use but seemed to do everything well. It is a very stylish machine. I miss it alot. I did consider getting this and repairing it but I can't get to Wales at the mo too much on. I remember seeing them in a local store and thinking that they looked rather stylish.
The sales staff were a little less impressed. Apparently the outer cabinet flexed/dented/dunkled as they were moving it to the display stand.

This Hoover a friend of mine had 2 times in silver, but booth are complete brokn, the drumbearrings are complete finih with live and the tubs are broken too
