Thought it would be fun to take some short videos of the 'new' Maytag washer! Here's one of the wash part of the cycle.

This one is kinda neat - it's the drain and spin after the wash part of the cycle. You can see the fabric softener spin out of the dispenser!!

I hope you were washing those towels on the gentle speed. That doesn't look like regular agitation rate at all.

Yeah, if it's a 206, which I believe is like my old CD, the speed button selected controls both agitation and spin. Actually, I think that's true of all two-speed CD models. You can't select a combo of gentle agitation and normal spin, but that's what it looks like is happening in the clips.

Let's see if Dan the (Maytag) Man shows up here to provide his expert opinion.

Uh-oh!

The washer was on Normal action... I think I may have overloaded it! I am so used to small loads in the front-loaders that perhaps I over estimated the 'Tag's capacity! I will re-test next week with a smaller load...
If this doesn't work, do I have an issue here??

i love using my maytag too! not the fastest spin compared to a frigidaire but overall it is a very good machine. and i love the way the clutch action for the tub spin is simply by mouting the motor on a sliding mount and using the belt as a clutch.

gotta start putting some of my stuff on u tube. perhaps this winter. keep posting videos please!

Whatever the issue, I think it will be an easy repair, and has likely been fully documented here by either Dan or RCD.

I don't think you overloaded it. That machine should be able to move a generous load of towels around just fine at normal speed.
