Raytheon TV

I wasn't aware they had made them. The company is well known, of course, for developing the microwave oven.

I don't think I would have liked watching a "porthole" style screen. Nearly half the picture is cut off on a 1.37:1 Academy ratio film source.

Easy 1958

There were so many attractive washers on the market in 1958, it would have been hard to choose. I might have gone with a Whirlpool Imperial because of parts and service availability but this Easy would have been mighty tempting.

1956

I remember being in Macy’s in Richmond, Calif. in 1956 and seeing these Lewyt Vacuums on display. At 5 years old I thought they were really special with those huge wheels and the pretty colors. I had a particular fascination with any kind of canister vac because everyone that I knew had uprights and canisters seemed exotic to me. I wanted to get a chance to play around with one to see how they worked.
