“Orth” stands for “Orthophonic sound” a term coined by RCA in the early 20’s for the superior sound reproduction from their Victrola’s and records. I don’t know what Lon and S.Fil stand for.
It's a record compensator or equalizer with 4 choices. I think they would correspond to L.P. for Columbia records, ORTH for RCA Victor, LON for Decca, and S.FIL. for a shelf filter with a different low frequency response.
That looks so good. My aunt's housekeeper Marleta used to make a fantastic coconut cake when I was visiting. The last I had was one my late neighbor Judy made for our historical society picnic.
When I make a cocoanut cake I frost it with American buttercream frosting flavored with vanilla and I fold about 3/4 to 1 cup of finely chopped cocoanut into the frosting, then lightly sprinkle shredded cocoanut on the top. This way you get the taste of cocoanut in every single bite without the mess of trying to get cocoanut to adhere to the sides of the cake. I prefer the cocoanut buttercream frosting over a Seven Minute frosting.
But that being said I agree that the Cocoanut Cake in the ad sure does look tasty.
BTW,I baked the Cocoanut Cake in the photo for Easter 2023.
