Hotpoint - 2 questions
I must be getting old(understatement)...I could not think "Hotpoint" ..but knew it reminded of one.
So...1) Do those buttons light up? And if they don't, didn't Hotpoint have a stove with colorful buttons that had some lighting to them? I want to say, Cory Heistercamp has a Hotpoint stove with this feature. And if anyone has a photo to show off of what I'm talking about, it would be nice to see a photo of that stove and better, the panel close up.
2)Does that stove have 2 outlets on the far right? Or is one a panel of black switches to turn on panel lights?
3)Were Hotpoint stoves like this, generally without oven door windows?

I think the two items on the far right are convenience outlets (ungrounded). This range does appear to have a fluorescent lamp, but for the life of me I don't see a switch. But then, it's not the best photograph, either.
I also think Hotpoint did have colored switches (color based on heat), but not sure if this range uses those switches.
I (again) think this is about a 1953/1954 model, not TOL but not BOL either. Anyway, GE did not offer oven windows in their products that early. GE began to offer oven windows starting in 1958.

Can you imagine the excitement when windowed oven doors arrived? It's like black and white tv going to color...well, not a great analogy.
If Cory Heisterkamp reads this, he has the stove with colored switches and I'd like to know, are there lights behind these switches? I wouldn't expect it to be individual, but a material that might transmit light in a panel behind the switches. I may be dreaming.

I'm not sure when the first electric range with a window in the oven door came about, or what brand it was, but I think my '53 Westinghouse was one of the first.
