I have this 1955 Admiral Black & White TV, and while it is not a high end model I'd like to have it fixed. It will need the usual, new caps/resistors and the tubes need to be checked. The last time it was turned on was about 15 years ago, and it worked at the time but the picture was very blurred. I'm not handy with electronics and was wondering if anybody knew of anyone in the New York City vicinity that does this type of work. I did find someone in Ohio but then I'd have to have it shipped.

Thanks !!

Tom, there's this location in NYC that deals with vintage TVs, radios, telephones, and clocks.

I knew of a place in Downsville, NY (an hour outside the city or so in upstate NY), but that appears to have closed.

You may also want to check the Antique Radios forum.  They have a special section for television that could provide resources for repair in your area.  Your TV likely just needs to have capacitors replaced.

Admiral was right up there with RCA for quality television sets back in the '50s.  Your set is worth fixing.
