A lady friend has heard me talk about my dishwashers & this club. She asked if I could help find out if they are worth anything & where to sell them. The stove was purchased in 1926 for her mom & the dishes are Hostess from the 40's. Anything anyone could do to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Michael

Not sure about the stove, but I think those dishes have a good bit of value, particularly since the set is complete (?) and has the original box.

I sold a few pieces of *I think* the same pattern on ebay a couple years ago and they did well.

Price Guides

I had a booth in an antique mall for about 5 years. What I used to do was to camp out at Barnes & Noble or Border's Books and pour over the price guide books in order to find out what things are worth, so I could price them fairly. All the book stores have a section for antiques and colletibles.

As for eBay, many people have good luck, there, but I never have, as a seller. It depends on what the item is. But a lot of people do very well.

The fact that you have the box for the dishes is a great plus! That will generally add to the value.

Oh, one more thing I thought of......Some antiques & collectibles malls will allow individuals to place things for sale on consignment. The malls I was associated with would do that.

Good luck to you!!!

Ebay might be the best avenue for both items with a reserve set. I'd put the stove reserve at $80 USD and the china set if it's complete at $100 USD. Both will probably get a lot of bids.

Try Kovels

I have had some luck at pricing from: www.kovels.com
You have to register (it's FREE), and I believe you get
20 free quotes or something...
Good luck!
