Thanks Sandy, like most of us I have too many vacuums     While I don't carry any vacuum up full flights of stairs I have an annoying 2 steps down to the family room.  The caster tray falls off of the Filter Magic on random lifts.  Mainly a nuisance.  I mostly keep the sidekick on the Olympia for pet hair the best setup ever for upholstery ( I think).

I do have to give the seller of the Compact props for the return e-mail, that it was sold.  Very polite.

The older style "TriStar-Compact" has better performance,the narrow intake opening on the "Lux style TriStar chokes off the airflow.The lower quality motor in the Lux style machines fails more often and has less power.The older machines had Lamb motors in them--MUCH BETTER!!!The newer machines plastic wands are wobbly when assembled and their contacts can burn.I am trying to stock up on the older type machines.One will be on order in the near future from a member of the vacuum forums.Liked the older powernozzle,too performed better.
