Wonderful stove
My uncle and his partner had this stove in their home for over 30 years. It's basically a GM Frigidaire range (top-performing self-cleaning oven) with corning burners (in this model, designed to work with non-corningware cookware with perfectly flat bottoms).
I think Dick chose this stove because, like James Beard, he was a great cook who didn't like gas, and they both wanted the really great simple styling of this appliance. They kept an already 25-years old 15" L&H cooktop from their old kitchen and installed it next to this stove. I have to report that they used the L&H for 20 more years and did most of their cooking on the fast strong thick-coiled burners. They got tired of the slowness of the Corning burners and the fact that the cooktop was deceptively difficult to keep clean.
