An eBay Seller In Belgium Was Liquidating NOS

Packets from a closed shop.

It is good thing for her/him that Kenmoreguy89 came along because the things had been sitting for ages. Things wouldn't sell and just be relisted.

Always wonder why many European collectors say they cannot *find* things locally, or at least in the EU. I and now others seem to have no problem, and indeed often have to refrain from hitting that button since am that well stocked. A little effort is all that is required. It was in Belgium, not Holland.
I posted time ago,I think on the shopper square forum, a link for some Axion additive of the same ebay seller, but pay the shipping for 2 was not that much of a deal, at the time I could not see else sold from them...
I usually make a scan of ebay offerings in vintage detergents and laundry detergents generally all over the world about once every 2 weeks or so, with of course different words in different in languages...
If it was from awhile that they were listed I could not really see them if not until last week when I practically bought everything they had left in lot.....
The seller also has a private store website...
Yes, they come from a closed shop...everything is pretty well conserved.
I've some more stuff coming my way...
As Launderess said, I already have much stuff at home, but when it comes on a deal like this...how can you simply say no??? I absolutely had to!
The deal was fantastic and indispensable, I could see single packets of detergents selling for as much as I got lots of 18 packets...
You can often see lots of detergents selling in Europe, but never, and say never that much and for this interesting price and in lots...
Then I guess it also change from country to country...
I can see packages of powders selling for as much as 78 euros in Italy..
This is a unique situation and I feel lucky I came to take advantage for it...
P.S
I'm an "him"... :)My name is Freddy, Federico...you can call me that way!

Am Guessing Outside of Persons LIke Ourselves

Not many in Europe have an interest in "old" laundry products. Again many of those listing sat unpurchased for one or more listings. One can only guess persons on that side of the pond prefer "modern" offerings than something from perhaps just after the War.

Fro my part am done. Have a large stash of Persil that probably will end up as part of my estate. Plus really cannot justify the dear shipping costs for anything new when one already has a very large stash of European and North American laundry products, both vintage and modern.

Vintage Dash and All work wonderful in either the Miele or AEG. Neither have enzymes or oxygen bleach, but that is easily enough corrected from our stash of oxygen bleaches and stain removers. Have a case of older "Biz" that have barely used a few boxes, so again am well supplied.

With the AEG in particular choices of detergent are limited. It gives only a set amount of rinses so whatever product one uses must be easily rinsed away.

Don't Get Me Wrong

Love my vintage products in theory, but find in practice most will need a *boost* to meet modern laundry standards. Thankfully am well supplied with La France, Axion, Biz, oxygen bleaches, bluing, and stain removers. However there are times when one just wants to use one product, load the machine and go.

For instance the soap based Persil in my stash is great for linens, but wouldn't use it on badly soiled/stained laundry.

Surf from the 1990's or so is actually a really good detergent. It does what the packet states: attacks dirt and odors. I don't know how or why but stinky laundry done in the stuff comes out fresh smelling. Even under the arms.

Actually over here...I could hear many people remembering older detergents as something better in terms of washing also...
And would kill to have some..
Italians, over 50 years old, dearly remember their mothers washing with Tide and Mira Lanza products, they often talks about the delicate scent of them, especially the Tide scent and how it washed so white and so good compared to today's stuff, youngers, I mean 15-20 at the time remember it also for it's strenght to clean the grease on their Vespa or Lambretta motorcycles and still says that in modern days there is nothing that equals Tide for such matters ( about 60 years old people), and for the more youngers at the time the fact that in every box there was a small gift, so they were all next the wash tub or washers helping their mothers to finally have the gift after the job was done as a prize for the help, they gifts were especially disney characters, and most of all the scoped "smoking-man"- "omino che fuma" a plastic man that would smoke long lasting small wax.made cigarettes, you would light the wax and he would smoke them...
Such thing today would be considered "outlaw"! As ineducative! But in the past was much fun for kids!
Anyway, the same way Dixan followed the fashion, and Miralanza too used to pack cards with characters in every package, cards also meant points, and if you had enough of them collected you could win items for the home after you reached a certain number of points such as pans, toasters, blenders, china etc....
Anyway....maybe it is not so in the other countries, but here, not only collectors, but also others would purchase them to use them....
I can see lots of people saying also that Dash that was sold in the 60s and 70s was better than now....
There're really lots of people out here that would buy them, for a remember, but they also would use it if well conserved...
Over here on ebay they keep selling older boxes for dear prices, so someone must buy them!
Maybe elsewhere is different..I don't know..
I think in the modern days if P&G would re-introduce the Tide brand in Italy that would be a success, it was wthdrawn because of a bad advertisement that let people intend it contained chlorine when it actually didn't, but now old people that would thnk that are almsot all died or "dumb", there're only generations that have a sweet remember of it and of their childhood...
Anyway returning to the speech of old detergents, me personally never had the need to use them in combination with anything for the most, both american or european ones..
But that's true a few products I used needed a boost, perborate or more enzymes..but the same is today..isn't it?
Conservation condition also plays an important role... I could use different packages of Biol that performed very differently one to the other because got humid..and bad conserved.
I loved yet my other Dash bucket I got recently, I used it in the Servis (even if with the spinner that is kaput) and I got wonderful results, and it was the prior version, when it didn't contain perboratex (and infact it was the first that came out and infact it states it's a sample box for appliance shops given for the purchase of washer..will post pics later) ...but it was able to give dazzling whites and remove "bleachable" stains just the same way the modern does and IMO better than others famous or less famous you can find today...
After all their motto is always been "Dash più bianco non si può"---"The whitest you can reach"...
Tide also was known for giving dazzling whites...
Who knows.....
