I'm soo chuffed they are bringing back for a limited time only fairy original washing up liquid in the Old White Bottle.

This is marking the 50th Anniversary of Fairy Washing up liquid.

Amazing they are bringing back an iconic nostalgic packaging that we saw in our kitchen sink from the 50s till 2000, when the fairy liquid packaging changed to the transparent bottles.

Look out for it in supermarkets..and buy it!!

No doubt if i get one i shall be keeping the empty bottle when I have finished =]

Thanks for posting....

This has been my WUL of choice since i moved out of home in 1995, so I remember those bottles! In those days there were only three scents (can you imagine LOL) I remember liking the green bottles, I think this was called `Spring Fresh' but mb not. The lemon was in a yellow bottle, but for some reason despite liking the scent the lemon used to make my knuckles red raw and bleed :0

I don't think you can beat original Fairy.

Of course choosing the best laundry detergents is far more complex and fun.......

I will certainly be looking out for and getting me some old
skool Fairy.

I wonder if this is avaiable anywhere in the US because I would love to have a couple of bottles of this.I think that it is soo cool.

I hope our local importer brings these in. I remember the bottles from living in Essex in the late seventies, as a teenager. We usually used Sunlight, but Fairy on occasion. There was only one scent. Ah the wonderful memories, thanks for posting.

Hands that do dishes....

Can feel soft as your face...with mild green Fairy Liquid.
And to think, we Americans had to put up with Mary Mild flying through the air, chirping "Ivory Liquid helps your hands look young again...young again!"
Shame, P&G.

I read that they were made available to retailers yesterday and that they've made 3 months supply, unless demand is high, then they'll be gone sooner! They should be appearing very soon then...

P&G should re-run the classic Nanette Newman TV ads again for the anniversary! LOL!

Fairy Soap...

...Began as a popular U.S. product, competitive with P & G's Ivory. A British entrepreneur bought the rights and began marketing Fairy in the U.K. The P & G bought the British company, Thomas Hedley & Co. Since Fairy was a very established brand in the UK, P & G left well enough alone, not trying to replace Fairy with its own Ivory.

Much more Fairy history at the link:

Fairy Spring Fresh Advert - 1995

I got a couple of the limited edition bottles in Morrisons this morning.

They're selling it for 59p a bottle - Waitrose are doing it for £1.45!

59p in Morrisons here as well :)

But limited to 3 bottles per customer ....????

Just walk round 3 times and go to 3 different checkouts lol...

3 for me, 3 for Mum and 3 for Gran :)........

Its also worth noting not only does it smell like "proper" Fairy Liquid, the bottles are 510ml as opposed to the now standard 450ml- bit of a bargain lol !!

I bet...

If people take to the fairy liquid being in the white bottles again, hopefully they should be a regular thing again on our shelves, and we should petition to bring them back permanently.
