Hey everyone. Hope you are all well. A while back, I came across a facebook marketplace ad for a really strange refrigerator. It appeared to be from the 1970’s or 80’s, being in almond, with the blocky handles that were trendy at the time. However, it was a french door, bottom freezer, much like many fridges of today. The ad only had one picture unfortunately, so I don’t know anything else about it. Does anyone remember these, for have any other information on them?
Thanks,
Thatwasherguy.

1980s whirlpool built French door bottom freezer refrig

Whirlpool made a lot of these they were sold under the whirlpool KitchenAid and Kenmore names. They still had a porcelain on steel liner and were very good refrigerators in their day.

Biggest weak point was it had a double gasket system between the French doors and the auxiliary gaskets would tear and wear out easily and have not been available for a long time.

Whirlpool built French door refrigerators back in the 60s as well both bottom freezer and top freezer models were the French doors were on the main refrigerator section below the freezer, which had a one piece door.
