Here is a picture of that washer from the ad. There was a matching dryer here that I was thinking of getting just a week ago or so, but it dissappeared off of craigslist when I went to check up on it.

Brian, that dryer may appear to be a "match" but they are significantly different. That dryer is actually a match to a 1959 or 1960 Kenmore 70 series washer, probably 2 models down from the Lady Kenmore. I am willing to bet you the washer is even a semi-automatic, not fully automatic. That syle panel got pushed farther & farther down the line as it went into 1960 through 1962. There's no chrom on the front of the washer, like on the dryer, and there's no metal/chrome strip at all on the molded handle scoop on the washer door. Doesn't even look like it had a waterfall filter.

Good call, Bob. That is a semi-auto washer. I don't think Hydro-Swirl was on any other model. Fill with a hose even!

You know I'd walk away with that thing washing and come back two days later!

This is a page from the 1960 Sears Catalog - the rest of the scans are in the archives - link...

semi automatic????

Must have been tight asses that bought that new...lol!!

The fridge is nice though. Looks like all porcelain, inside and out. I bet it would clean up really well. The finsh has not darkened like the washer, so I think it is porcelain. Love the deco look of it too!
