Vintage Frigidaire dishwasher - $40 (Old Mill)

It's reasonably rare...  These were actually made by D&M for Frigidaire.  This would be an impeller-wash system - possibly early to mid-60s.   PhilR has one similar to this...and I'm jealous... LOL  Hope someone out on the West Coast saves it!

Revenge of the Plexiglas-top dishwasher! I liked the one I had, it washed really well, actually, and had one of the least-annoying racking systems for an impeller machine.

I was surprised--looking down through the window--that the water only really boils up and around the dishes in the top rack, bathing them--it seldom hits the top of the lid, except for a few tangential spitters. It was fast, and pretty quiet, and it did the cute "run the impeller to blow-dry the dishes" thing at the end, which was the sound I listened for to go run and advance the timer to Off.

Running the main drive motor all through the dry...sheesh.

Gee, I kinda like that 'impeller forced-air drying'...  The ol' Viking (Westinghouse) we had when I was a brat did that and I was thrilled when I found out the '56 GE in the Kitchen Centre does, too.

I can't decide which is more fun - water action in a washer or dishwasher, but I have missed alot of action in the dishwashers, just listening to you two.

The one I have is newer than that. It's a "J" model from 1965, the one above is the earliest version of the Frigidaire top-loading dishwasher.
