Vintage GE Bottom Freezer Fridge in Sunny Yellow

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The weight...and actual sale status....

Those weigh roughly what my 63 Frigidaire Custom Imperial does....circa 400lb. This yellow GE was listed on the Phoenix craigslist quite awhile ago. Yes...I called wanting to buy. This was circa Feb/March. I was told it was sold. Angry...I checked Ebay shortly thereafter and there it was! Then it mysteriously vanished....and here it is again.

If one of you buys it....

I'm about 28 miles from seller locale. I might be able to house it for you or be of some help with keeping transaction smooth 'n' easy.

Sometimes It Is Not Always A Sketchy Seller

But buyers or those promising to purchase in deals that went badly.

Especially with vintage appliances from microwave ovens to larger things such as dishwashers or washing machines persons simply do not realize how much it will cost to transport. To be honest even when sellers state clearly "local pick up only", potential buyers see what they want and seem to gloss over that fact.

This or when someone arrives to collect they realize what they are in for and try to back out of the deal. Many of us here don't mind getting under the bonnet and such to make a vintage appliance run and or restore to it's former beauty. However you'd be surprised how many clueless persons bid or buy vintage appliances and expect the thing to be out of the box perfect.

Finally sellers may finally come down off their high horses in terms of asking prices. That is they simply realize they aren't going to get thousands for a vintage appliance and are better off taking what they can get.

Well...it's all ok. I have put a bid

on this. As I mentioned...if any of you want it (and I actually win it)....I can babysit/safekeep until you're ready to make transport arrangements. I have bid to ensure that at least SOMEBODY up here gets a reasonable shot at it without any seller pressure to hurry up and get it. I live near...holding it at my place with be no grief!

the seller told you it was sold? now it's up for sale? sorry, this seller is under review for suspicious activity.
He does have it up for sale, on eBay, but what's to prevent him from pulling it at the last minute? I'd be cautious again, but all that said, SOB, it's beautiful!

I didn't bid high...

Just enough to show someone local is serious...I like it and will happily pick it up sight unseen. Wrote and said so much. Like I say...(about a lot of items like this)...it isn't something I *HAVE* to have. But I'll take it home and if any of you ever want it and time/transport funds permit just call me and we'd have ample to to ship it out after chasing reliable and affordable transport. Sometimes when you bid on this stuff and are out of area...they expect you to be ready to move it very quickly...and that is not always possible. Of course, I'm rambling as though I am gonna win it. Some huge bid might just come up outta no place!

I purchased this fridge and I have it plugged in.  Not sure what issue the seller had, but it appears to be working at the moment.  The temperature control was set to off; I'm wondering if it was something as simple as turning it on...

Thank you!  Once I've made sure everything is working as it should, the next project will be getting up the stairs to the kitchen!
