You know how some people count pennies, I count kilowatts since just a few can push me into Edison's "platinum tier"...especially when both greedy central air conditioners are sucking up power. The GE double self clean in the San Jose house...I used the clean cycle once in the top oven. The double self-clean Jenn Air that I replaced...used the clean cycle in each oven once in 12 years. Most of what I cook that splatters ends up in the BBQ. I find it easier to maintain my cheapskate status and clean up spills rather than push the clean button. I guess I have turned into my mother.
