I have one exactly like yours. I cannot pull up anything with
My model number. It is in excellent condition and been in use since it was purchased by my late mother in the 1960’s. It went dead last week. Think door switch. Would love to find parts for it. GE is no help either without pulling up info by model number which doesn’t work. If they can’t get anything without this model number, probably won’t have parts either . Has been a great machine. Hate to let it go when I get a new one, but have to have a dryer .
Do you have a manual on yours? Or any info exactly when made? It’s a shame the model or serial number won’t work. Best, Susan

Late 60s GE electric dryer

This was a very reliable dryer and easily fixed. It was probably about the peak of quality for general electric dryers.

It could certainly have a bad door switch. If the things completely dead it could also be a wire burned off the terminal block or possibly the timer.

It should be easy to get parts for this dryer. Take it apart and see what's wrong with it it comes apart like all GE dryers at this time. Take a picture of the part and we can find it for you.

I’m afraid I don’t know how to take it apart to find the problem. I know it is not the timer. I put it on 10 min. And it counted down. Husband said if it is a used part, it may wear out soon to. Got to have a dryer. Of course, if I buy one, they will take this one away. Garage is full. Nowhere to keep this one that has been so faithful.
