Someone took very good care of those. They look immaculate. That's also my favorite appliance color. Too bad they're asking such a ridiculously high price.

If they weren't $499.00, they'd be in this house by late evening. I think they are the June Cleaver models. I have a GE book that pre-dates those by a couple of years.

Here's What You Do

If units don't move, and if they are like many other eBay appliance auctions they wont. Email the seller stating you are a local and make your best offer. More likely than not the person just wants the things gone and thought he could make some easy lottery cash. However money talks and **** walks, so if you make a decent offer chances are he will take the cash. Odds are even greater since you are local and can pick up the items, saving him the shipping. He will also save on the eBay fees as well.

The oven is newer than the Cleaver household double ovens. The one offered for sale is more 1966 vintage. Our house had the oven with a window door and the cooktop in coppertone. I have the "Cleaver-style" double oven from the late 50s in Woodtone Brown. It has the TOL clock with a separate dial for the minute timer.

Thanks, Tomturbomatic, it would still be a fabulous addition to my 1961 house, that book I have is out of the mid fifties, and if I had thought back far enough, I would have remembered June's ovens had windows. Were hers/yours only available in pairs?

yep, another wishful thinking seller. As was discussed in another forum by someone else. It would be better to start the price at a realistic amount like $20 and let the market place decide what it is worth. That after all is what an open market is.
Now it sits unsold and they owe a fee to ebay. Call it a "showing how greedy I am" fee. There is a special section in the Ebay area under questions and fees.

It is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

One defintion of "market value" is stated as an arm's length transaction where both well-informed parties are looking after their own best interest and have a transaction at a cash-equivalent price with no undue stimulus.

Sellers want a fortune. Buyers want free. Where the downwnard slope of the demand curve (as prices increase) meets the upwards slope of the supply curve (as prices increase) we then have equilibrium and market value.

SOLD!

Nice

I have one just like it, except a couple years older with the glass oven door. But mine is in PINK!!!! I picked them up at one of the local thrift stores here in Tucson. The thrift store has an "as is yard" and there the oven and cooktop stove were sitting. They look brand new. They wanted a high price of $7.00 for the two. I didn't know how I was going to afford it, but I bought them anyways. I've since hooked the wall oven in and it works great. Even the clock and timers. I have not hooked the stove up yet. Eventually I will. I will also post pictures. I'm redoing my kitchen and once I'm done with everything I will post all the pics. But thought I'd share. Justin

G.E.

Well in addition to the oven and stove by G.E. I also have a G.E. Fridge in pink as well. and a Hotpoint (G.E.) dishwasher in pink. Unfortuneatly they are all different years. But its all good.

Justin, your pink appliances sound fantastic. I'm sure most buyers didn't get everything all at once anyway. Anxious to see when you can post! The little house two doors down from me had built-ins, but the idiot that got it about 15 years ago yanked it out!
