Well, minus some glass, our kitchen renovation is finally done! I lost the argument on the stove, but managed to get a vintage fridge in, on the condition that the fridge surround actually pops out to fit a larger modern fridge, should this one die or we sell the house. I designed the cabinets myself, and am pretty happy with everything. The dishwasher is an integrated Fisher Paykel double dishdrawer. The stove is a Kitchenaid. And the gem of the kitchen (to me) is the vintage GE fridge, which is chugging along fabulously.

That fridge looks designer-perfect in that kitchen. GE must have made a zillion of those because I cleaned up a lot of them for resale. Unlike newer model General Electrics, they always seemed to work. As I recall they had a solid condenser on the back (memory is shot so I could be wrong) which may have contributed to their longevity. I do remember the nice solid sound the doors made when you closed them...sort of like closing the door on your new Cadillac.

Nice installation! I applaud your thinking ahead and leaving a provision for being able to replace the GE if necessary - I am constantly being reminded of what would happen if the GE Wall Refrigerator in the Ogden kitchen gives up the ghost.

Your fridge looks great in the new kitchen - congratulations!!
