Hello! I just recently purchased this incredible GE refrigerator/freezer combo that is in fantastic condition! Unfortunately, during transport, one of the gold decorative pieces behind the handle broke off and is lost on the highway somewhere in Michigan :(. I'm desperately seeking a replacement part! I have searched all the appliance restoration websites and haven't had any luck. Hoping maybe someone on here will have one or know of where I could locate the part. Picture is below! The piece missing looks just like the piece that is intact behind the top handle.

Missing GE refrigerator trim piece

That’s probably gonna be very hard to find you might get lucky, you might have to buy a whole refrigerator to get the piece.

If I were you I would take the other one off and make a mold from it in plaster and mold a piece out of plastic or epoxy resin, detail paint it to match if you can’t get it close enough make two of them That you made that are identical that you have made.

Good luck John

I agree with John that another fridge is likely your best bet for that part.  BOLO for ads that say "non working" or "runs great but doesn't cool" and are offering one for free or very little money.

How far of a drive did you go? Is it at all possible to retrace your steps? I have heard many stories and some have happened to me of something falling out of the car and then going back and finding it on the side of the road. If it's not too far of a drive it might be worth going and combing the berm ...
