Well...Here is my latest project, a GE model J412V3WH serial A Vo 37421, it was NASTY!!!! I took it all apart and SCRUBBED it!! It is in the best shape of any old stove I have seen, the oven is beautiful,it is kind of strange in that it has a clock, flourescent light and 2 outlets...but NO oven light??? the hood I bought about a year ago at a yard sale for 5.00!!, anyone have ant info on this stove!???

**COUGH COUGH**

Did you say you found that hood at a garage sale? It's awesome! I can't find a 40 inch hood to save my soul.

WELLLLLL!

The hood actually is a 36 inch,I dont think anyone ever made a 40, All I have ever found listed was 24,30,36,42 and 48,in the old catalogues,we used a filler strip to make it look balanced, I have a complete hood cabinet that was made by Lyon that is 42 inches wide, I would like to get rid of it if you are interested. The stove is in great condition but it WAS NNAASSTTYY!!! I couldnt stand to cook on something that smoked when I turned it on LOL!

I couldnt stand to cook on something that smoked when I turn

Uhh, I thought the sequence was to smoke after being turned on and blowing the fuse, not before ;-) he he he

hmmmmm,

Yes, I'd be interested. Ya wanna shoot me an email, I'm at work right now; or I'll hit you later tonight.

Thanks!

Hans,

My kitchen has a Nutone hood exactly like that except the writing is in a script and it has the turn switches instead of buttons like yours. Mine still looks like new and cleans so easily. The house was built in 64'

Hans, another beauty there my boy!!! Is that a single over or double? Sure looks nice in your kitchen with the hood!!

Dang! Your kitchen is like a movie set... New refrigerator over here, move these cabinets over there... add a range hood, get a new range!

Fabulous, though! I can't imagine moving all of those appliances around... I'm sure you're gonna cook up some mean southern comfort food in no time!

Hans,

Just think of all that nastiness and gunk as protecting the stove, like the rustproofing on a car. LOL Everything looks fantastic btw.

What a beauty!

Hans,

That's one good looking stove you got there! The enamel looks to be in wonderful shape, too. Funny that it doesn't have an oven light, but I'm not sure what model you have there. I have a 1958 (I think) GE 30-inch (pix below) with the small pushbuttons, but my oven controls and clock is different from yours. Regardless of the model/year, I love your new range!! The GE's do a wonderful job baking, too - and your vintage would have been used as the official stove of the Pillbury Bake Off at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel!

I Think!!!

I finally got a range that I will keep!!Of course I still have the big Norge in the laundry room, but this GE brings back so many good memories,I had an aunt and a Great aunt and uncle that had similar ranges when I was small,my hometown was full of these ,and that basic design was used for many years, so there are a lot of them out there.
