That's a nice kitchen. I especially like the stainless sinktop.

In 1956, my parents had a house designed and got bids for its construction. It was to have Geneva cabinets. Unfortunately, they could not afford to build it at that time, and the next year bought a five year old house instead. I used to have all the drawings, but don't know what became of them.

What great looking appliances. Bets on the buyers ripping it all out though? Looks like. Did the tile floor have a checkerboard or some sort of pattern to it. I remember a lot of the old kitchens with the 9" tiles would have some sort of pattern in the center etc., like a diamond or something.

How Fun!

These are no relation to Suburban Propane, but are products of either Tennessee Stove Works or that obscure Samuels Stamping & Enameling. It does look like the drip tray from under the surface units is missing. This kitchen would be a good place to use one of those Sunbeam or WH Appliance Centers to have more high amperage 120 volt outlets. If you ever barfed after eating chocolate chip cookies in that bathroom and missed the curvaceous commode, you would have a hard time knowing when the floor clean up was complete. I like the recessed tissue holder. I think the toi-toi is a Crane. I like the recess in the front of the tank for the seat lid; gives big people more space. The house has been well cared for.

Where is that house?

What a spectacular kitchen. The whole house must be amazing - and clearly owned by people that knew how to take of things.

I live up the road from Mocksville about an hour or so in Durham. Is that house in Mocksville? If y'all end up buying it and wake up one morning with that oven missing, you can be pretty sure it was purloined for a new existence in Durham....

It is in..

Winston Salem, ....we would LOVE to buy it...but it is a small fortune because its in the ritzy part of town...I have already put my name out to the real estate people, if the buyers gut it, im going to try and buy the kitchen, yes it does have 9 inch green and white tiles in a checkerboard pattern, the oven and cooktop are made by Samuels ..They look to be VERY heavy built.
