Hi Kevin, I probably have a good used switch like your original ones if you’re interested, what got updated about the switches what’s different?
I doubt GE officially offers anything for this cooktop. Do you have the new part number?

I was able to update the selector switches on my '57 Customline wall oven to something newer that GE offered. I thought I could do the same for the cooktop. Not looking for something old and original, a new infinite selector switch would be more reliable being that this cooktop is a daily driver I use.

New surface element control switches
You can put Robertshaw infinite switch kits in the stove if you’d like, GE also sells a new, infinite switch. They’ve gotten really crappy, however.
Even in daily use, the original switches should be highly reliable.
The only advantage to the infinite switches is you would have some settings in between the different settings.
The other advantage would also be that the entire element would be used on any heat setting not just one half or the other, etc.
I have a GE cooktop from 1965 in my weekend house that has pushbutton heat controls with just five settings per element, and I’ve always found it delightful to cook on and we do a lot of cooking.

As per the original switches.....
Two of the switches that control the 6 inch burners are skipping a setting or two. The other two switches are working fine. I just need newer with just three temp settings. I'll look into the Robert Shaws, a great product. I put two new Robert Shaw thermostats in the '57 wall oven and they're better than original. Thank you very much your help. I'll post updates as well.

New infinite switch kits
The current GE number is WB 21X36771. This kit is adaptable to your stove top the knob should fit the shaft without the adapters. It is a push to turn type control. It’s a bit expensive from GE retailing for about $70 apiece,
You might be able to find something less expensive.

Hans gave you a valid source for the Hotpoint part. Talk about leading a horse to water and not being able to make it drink. This is like when we were trying to explain why your GE clothes dryer did not heat with oil; you don't seem to read.
If the Robertshaw controls are like the Invensys/Robertshaw controls used here in Australia, they don't appear to be very reliable. They fail to on, meaning when switched on they run at full power whatever the setting, so they burn everything you cook. It seems to be a common fault, based on online reviews of the stoves they are fitted to.
We replaced all the controls in a relative's cooker about a year ago, one has failed again already. We have decided to replace the whole stove, new ones are in short supply at present but I found a nearly new stove on Gumtree, a much higher model cooker but uses the same controls. It has one control that is failing, you can hear it arcing when it switches between heating and pausing modes. I replaced it with a good control today. I'm about to order a full set to keep on hand. They sell complete sets as when one is failing the others tend to be not far behind.
If you can get originals, I'd stick with them...

Have been the gold standard for about the last 40 to 50 years here in the states and have very few problems but anything can fail.
But in general infinite switches for surface electric elements are very reliable in the US at least not sure what are used in other places.

Hi Chris , the ones I am thinking of do not look like the ones in the link GE did sell ones that look like the ones in the link here for a while they seem to work but they were pretty cheap. I was not impressed with them.
It seems that GE is no longer selling that one here they’ve gone back to one that looks more like the older square Robert Shaw design.
