Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Resistance was futile.

This is a GE dryer with a Taylor Avenue Hotpoint backsplash on top. Probably 1971 and marking the assimilation/end of authentic Hotpoints. This was made to match a TA Hotpoint washer that was being phased out. This is in an old posting of a brochure during this transitional time.

As much as I am curious TA Hotpoint washers(which, even I have to admit, weren't great performers), I don't think there was anything particularly good about their dryers; like old Whirlpool/Kenmore washers, their cabinets were way too big given their capacity and they weren't remarkable at all as dryers of wet laundry. I don't remember what their repair records were like when CU actually did some research but I'd bet they weren't good.
