I recently cut the cable (and landline) cord, saving $135.00 per month. Although it took a year to finally take the step, I have absolutely no regrets and, frankly, wonder why I didn't do it years ago.

Anyway...I've been finding a lot of fun things to watch on YouTube like these instructional films shown in schools in the 1950's-1960's. Many are made by Coronet and they're usually around 9-15 minutes in length. They're so dated in many ways but still great to watch---and there are dozens of them. In fact, I remember seeing a couple of these when I was in junior high (1971-1973).

These two are typical of the fare. Settle in with a bowl of popcorn and prepare to get schooled!

emotional intelligence, etc.

High school students who take to drinking and drugs face impaired judgment.
It's a dead end.
But, things happen with young hormones going whatever way full force. Use a condom, at least.
Then there is also the film about the male pedophile from 1960.
What that film doesn't reveal is that 90% of them are either hetero, and or married to the opposite sex. I don't think it was known then. Only to the purps.
It's a control sickness.

Thanks for sharing!

I can't recall having seen such films, although maybe back in elementary school they did something like these (albeit aimed at that age bracket). Indeed, based on what I remember what my mother said years after the fact, I wonder if my 1st grade teacher wouldn't have loved such films. IIRC, my mother said social development was a big deal for her. Obviously, she didn't fix the issues that make me so fascinating. And my mother met my old teacher's kids later on when my mother was subbing. From what my mother saw, the kids had issues...

Actually, the film--if I'm thinking about the same film--was about "the homosexual" who, the film claimed, went chasing after teenage boys. That film is beyond offensive, of course, but I suppose it reflects attitudes of the era. (If nothing else, keep in mind that it wasn't until 1970-something that being gay was removed from the official list of psychiatric disorders.) I wonder if this 1960 film isn't current viewing--and taken as accurate information--by a large percentage of today's religious right. Certainly the hate that spews forth from their 2016 mouths seems to cover some of the same topics as that old film.

I love social guidance films
