Wow, Peter did you get it?
This would probably have had a Tricity double oven in stainless steel and black trim with matching fridge freezer, then as they where replaced with the Siemens Single oven and first of the combi microwave ovens and the built in fridge.....quite a catch for a retro kitchen, wonder if they still had the bendix laundry?

This is one of my dream appliances, I have wanted one since I was a teenager. But just at the moment it was too far to go and I do not have room for it.

Sorry, the last posting was a bit rushed.
Much as I LOVE the oven isn't that brown and orange kitchen VILE! I don't think I would have liked it even when it was new ......
Now back to the Kenwood. Although this model was in production for quite a long while - it launched in around 1965 and ran (I believe) until around 1973 or maybe 1974, this is the first of its type I have seen on ebay.
I think this kitchen dates from the early 1970s. At first I thought the fridge was original but on a closer look I can see that it is not, its MUCH newer. It might JUST (going on the colour of the cabinets) have had the built in Tricity fridge but it is possible that it had a freestanding model built in instead, I don't think the built in model started much before 1974 - but of course I am depending on memory here.
I would concur with Mike on the Tricity oven (it would have been white if a single oven) because of the large white fillers above and below the cavity, who knows what the original hob was. I might have said Moffat for the oven but the cabinets for oven and fridge seem identical with would make then 24"/60cm each. I think the counter tops have been renewed at some point as early 1970s kitchens would not have had the rounded front edges. I would be curious to know how they fitted in that (Ikea?) monobloc tap.
The oven, microwave and hob are mid to late 1980s. Mike, that microwave is a combination type and is a couple of generations prior to the one you had.

Hello I spotted this late last night and contacted seller. They said people had contacted them for various items ie oven microwave etc. I said I'm interested in dishwasher but I've not heard from them as yet. I think buyer must dismantle is a put off for some with the bigger things. Ill let you know if I hear anything as I'd love ( although don't need ) another vintage dishwasher and have the impellor for this machine ( if I'm correct )

Alas no I did not.
But I did get..a beautiful 50's prestcold fridge in fantastic condition, but is 1 bloody inch to wide!
A nice 60's burco tumble dryer and for a quid! the same seller had also a 50's gec fridge and begged to have it taken away...so I did.as ya do
A nice hoover twinnie and tonight picking up a parkinson cowan prince,god know why
coz I don't have any gas!
Al.nope as you see the garage filling.(altho still have room for a keymatic)
I have seen a few of these oven of late al,one was quite local.If you ever spy anything that is in this neck of the woods I am happy to collect and store.

we had that machine in the first house we bought in 1982,I painted the door red to match the kitchen......dear oh dear...well it was the eighties and red was in!

You must be like Hercules to carry all those appliances on and off vans etc etc. so did you have a kenwood dishwasher I've got their first model with bakelite impeller that is top loading. But it's not automatic or very good! What was this machine like ? Red or not ?

I'm sure if I dig deep enough I may even find a photo of it.
It did have the prop in the bottom and altho as noisey as hell it washed well and quite fast.I think I bought it in Brick Lane in east london for a couple of quid.
Brick lane was a fantastic place to pick up stuff.It still is, but of course very trendy.......
My gec is much smaller,although to big to fit under a worktop.It is a bit rusty and will need restoring however works fine.
The prestcold I'm gutted about. one inch to big for the space I have.course I could get a smaller stove like a normal person then I could keep it...but hey ho it's gotta go.
I hope you get the dishwasher, fingers crossed.

Thanks. Can you not trim a cupboard. Remove skirting boards anything to gain an inch lol ? Shame to lose the fridge !
