I have the same
Mixer. Since the weak link in them was the beater and how it attached to the planetary, most people got rid of them years ago. The shaft was on the beater and it clipped on to the planetary. The area of attachment was aluminum and wore out if used extensively and then the beater was no longer available. Instead Kitchenaid offered a conversion kit that turned that 3 qt mixer into a 4 qt mixer by changing the planetary, the beater and bowl. The bowl and beater were from a 4-C model. And you could also opt for a Stainless steel bowl.
I have the setup with the glass bowl.(the price was right) and use the mixer from time to time. It makes the lightest cakes ever and my cakes are always smoother and lighter than the same mix when my wife makes it. She insists on using her $12.00 hand mixer!
The original style juice extractor is worth the asking price of the whole thing.
