Hi, does anyone know if KitchenAid/Hobart KDI-18 racks will fit in my KitchenAid KUDI 220T0 dishwasher? The KUDI (probably Whirlpool/circa 1990) came with our house nearly 20 years ago, and it is a real workhorse, but the racks are in very bad shape and getting worse by the day. I found an older (Hobart era) KitchenAid KDI-18 offered for sale as parts online, with racks in pretty good shape. The size, shape and set-up of the racks and the attached upper rinse mechanism look very similar, but should I wait and keep looking for a KUDI 220T0 instead? (I fear that if the rest of them are like mine, they are never going to die.)

Not an Expert here but...

No.

I would say these older style racks will not fit a "newer style machine. While I lost interest on KitchenAids after the WP acquisition, I have notices a change in the configuration and design of the upper and lower racks. Although similar, I would think not.

However, opinions and advice should be here shortly. stevet would know for sure our resident inter galactical Hobart Dr. Bombay.

KA DW Racks

The 18s racks should fit a 22 just fine, but when WP redesigned the weak upper roller system of the previous Hobart designs for the 23 series, the 23 top rack would no longer work in the older KAs, however the bottom racks all interchange in the dual wash-arm-porcelain tank machines.
