Vintage maytag washer model 142 - $200

As 142's go that's an older one. But at 200 dollars it might be a tough sell, though it does say OBO. I'd like to know what that dark patch is on the left forward area of the top panel. Is it just dirt or is the porcelain actually missing or damaged in that spot? If it's just dirt this would be worth pursuing.

I enlarged the picture and it looks like the porcelain is missing in that dark area.
Well that's a bummer. I wonder how hard it would be to come up with another top panel? Without one this machine is likely to be a parts donor.
