Vintage "Norge" Coin Op Dryers

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yes you're so right. I haven't seen those dryers in about 30-40 years.

Loved that Sliding Temperature control.

It was either Huebsch or Hoyt had the "LoadTrol" which adjusted the tumble speed of the dryer. The settings were 1-5... 1 being the slowest for one load of clothes 5 being the fastest for 5 Top Load machine loads.

Originally 10 cents for 10 minutes

A local coin-op had them. A neighbor with a Maytag washer, and no basement like our house, did not like dryers, but during our winter monsoons when she could not hang out, she would wash up everything and drive up there to dry everything but the lares and penates. Of course she would set the temperature to the highest setting to dry fastest and cheapest. Unfortunately, the residual Tide not rinsed out by the Maytag yellowed the whites in the high temperature and we would have to hear about it on the next ride to school.
