I'm trying to find a home for this dryer so I don't have to scrap it. Hopefully, someone will give it a good home. I believe this is the original dryer to the house, which would make it from the early 1960's. It quit on me in 2001, and has been sitting in my basement ever since. It may just need a drive belt, but I have never had a chance to investigate it too much.

This is made by Borg Warner. Hopefully, someone out there can restore it and use it. I would be happy just getting the scrap value for it (maybe $20?); would hate to actually see it scrapped though.

I am in Ocean Gate, NJ, which is near Toms River and Seaside Heights on the Jersey Shore. Must be picked up. Email me if you are interested; I need to get rid of this unit pretty quickly.

Similar to, but newer than, the first dryer I ever remember my mom having.  Hers was an older model with Timeline and large "N" badge on the front, but it was gas and probably mechanically the same.  I remember it being quiet, and still running fine when it got replaced by a new matching Signature pair in late 1967.

Very Quiet

My aunt had a Moffat dryer, which was Norge's Canadian make. It had the drop-down hamper drawer, and it was whisper quiet. The exhaust vent was also very quiet.

My wife's parents had a Norge dryer when she was little, but she said the dryer was loud. I suppose it must have had a worn bearing.
