I know,i just get wound up when i get something new!And want to know EVERYTHING about it!!!

Got it. I think it is mid 60s to early 70s. I'm not an expert. I tried to resize the pic, but it didn't turn out too good. Here it is anyway - if someone knows about this unit, please post.

I think it is a bit earlier . . .

by the late '60s and early '70s woodgrain plastics had become a big, big thing. This design is much cleaner with no fake wood. I'd guess early to mid '60s. I have a later Philco unit with a woodgrain front and "garage door" flip over panel in front of the controls. I'm not sure of the age but I think it is '70s. It still works well!

I think you are right. I looked on ebay for old magazine ads and it looks similar to one in a 1959 ad I found. Judging by an ad dated 1964, wood grain and plastic was coming in style.

Here's a link to the ebay 1959 ad:

RE Philco

Hi
I had the Philco 6600 but ac in about 1969. it was used one that the orignal owner told me that they bought 1965. It was the noisless modle as well(out side was the noizyist thing) it had a grill very much the same and the controals very close. I had that ac unit well in to the late 70's. 1977 to be exact. the thermostat went bad. a local repair shop put in a bojack and the unit was never the same!! the temp swings were awful.
I gave it to a friend and he had it for two to three years longer. I replaced the unit with a GE . I am guessing that its about 1966-67 mabey 68. hope this helps you out
