Vintage portable Kitchenaid dishwasher - $150 (north portland)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That's my first dishwasher, same color as well. Still remember buying it at the old Woodwards flagship store on E.Hastings in Vancouver. That thing could clean and the dishes came out red hot.

Petek - that's a nice way to start your dishwasher history...I like the sleeker lines.

Is there any truth to what I thought I read ...that portable dishwashers are typically a subset of cleaning and features to the usual under-counter? Anyone?

had this one...

that we got from tuquoisedude Paul. I think the portable KAs had the same cycles and wash performance as undercounter models on the equivalent hierarchy rung, if you will, the Deluxe KD-37 being de facto BOL and thus similar to KDC-17. Ours worked well no complaints about performance, it was used regularly until replaced by a KDI-18 Convertible/portable.

PS:

they say it's a '71 16 Series, however it looks pretty much identical to our 17 series, however if it is what they say then it'd be a KD-36, presumably. I forget the first year for 17s but it was around 72/3?

hey thanks firedome..I realize my question has some variables....no reason that a portable can't perform as well as an undercounter. I better not step any deeper into it... :-) Thanks again.

date

appnut /anyone - any idea of when it was consumer available? To me, it would blend with the straight line designs of the 70's...would it be early to mid 70's?
