Hey Guys!

Anyone here an iron collector, also? I have a Proctor Silex steam iron model I913L that will not steam no matter what I have tried to do, including using a solution of white vinegar and water to unclog it. It doesn't seem to be clogged and it doesn't appear to have been used very much. What gives? I even tried the usual ironing board bump several times and still nothing. It seems to me that the plunger inside is not opening so as to allow the water to drip into the steam chamber.

This model has the maroonish color paddle / fip switch for the steam/dry on/off button located under the handle. The steam holes on the sole plate are clearly open and do not even show any calcium deposit buildup.

No Proctor Silex

But several "Silex" irons; mostly "Mary Proctor" Never Lift and other dry irons.

Also have vintage Westinghouse, Presto and other irons. Some still NIB, others used once then cast aside. Boxes for many now are in tatters from being shoved about in storage, but irons sit unused.

Bought many of these dry irons back when was into collecting them, and found vintage irons streets ahead of modern offerings. But since then discovered industrial/commercial irons and that was it; have rarely gone back.

My Sussman pump steam irons are heavy, put out all dry steam one could want and get quite hot. So that's me for you.

Would sell on some of my vintage irons, but quite frankly market is saturated and prices are thus depressed. It would cost more in shipping than price likely to fetch, so things are just lying about spare haunting me.
